Jim is a founding member of Cairnstone and oversees Cairnstone’s financial operations, including budgeting, reinsurance treaties and settlements, accounting, financial reporting, premium administration, treasury, accounts payable, payroll, leases and field expenses. He also designs marketing compensation plans, producer incentive agreements, and supports the appraisal and pricing of block acquisitions.

Jim’s prior experience includes Chief Financial Officer of Alden Risk Management Services (a wholly owned subsidiary of John Alden Life Insurance). Alden risk Management Services was an industry leader in all phases of stop loss insurance and reinsurance, including Provider Excess of Loss, HMO Reinsurance, Employer Stop Loss, Life/AD&D, LTD, Conversion and International Healthcare providers. Additional experience includes positions of Manager of Finance for the Logistics Division at Ryder System, Inc., and Manager of Acquisitions in the same company’s Vehicle and Leasing Division. Overall, Jim has more than ten years of industry experience and more than twenty years of financial experience.

Jim received his Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business in International Finance and his BSBA (with highest honors) from the University of Delaware in Finance. He has received his designations as a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU).
