Helen
Smith, RN, BSPA, CCM has been with
Cairnstone
since 1997. Her background includes over thirty years of nursing experience
and management roles, as well as development of a managed care
program
for the state’s largest insurer, a national utilization review
and case management program, medical-legal file reviews and working
with both indemnity and stop-loss products.
Her vast experience includes all levels of care and specialties. Helen
obtained her nursing diploma from Boston City Hospital and recently
received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from St. Joseph’s
College. She has been instrumental in the development, management
and
growth of our CairnCare Program as well as training of the case managers
and claims analysts. As the Senior Case Manager her workday
consists of daily communications with the case managers, claims analysts,
underwriters and producers. She provides assistance, direction and
education
on management of catastrophic cases; education of outside case managers
and underwriting reviews. Helen has focused on development of relationships
with outside resources to further enhance the case management program
as well as provision of quality care and service. She works on identifying
preferred partners for the CairnCare program. “Working with Cairnstone
Re provides me with the opportunity to be an advocate, utilization
review
specialist, case manager, provider liaison and educator.” states
